The US Supreme Court’s Dobbs judgment triggered constitutional and legislative debates across Europe. Professor Suteu examines comparative experiences in Europe and explores strategies to protect abortion rights and reproductive justice amid gendered democratic backsliding.

Professor Silvia Suteu is Professor of Law at the European University Institute 
in Florence, specializing in comparative constitutional law, gender and human rights. She is the author of Eternity Clauses in Democratic Constitutionalism (Oxford University Press, 2021), awarded the 2023 ICON-S Book Prize.
